PETALING JAYA - Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd crossed another milestone by paving the way for medical practitioners to enhance skills related to ultrasound equipment with the establishment of SONO University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) - Samsung School.
The first school of its kind in Malaysia was inaugurated by Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh at UMMC here, today.
Samsung Malaysia Electronics president, Lee Dong Yong, in his speech before the launching ceremony, said the UMMC-Samsung SONO School aimed to provide medical practitioners with quality training in ultrasound as well as enhance their diagnostic skills.
“We hope the school’s focus on education and training for medical practitioners will benefit the healthcare industry and help in improving lives,” he said.
Meanwhile, University Malaya Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Amin Jalaluddin noted that the setting up of UMMC-Samsung SONO School provides great potential to harness medical research skills and techniques, applying them to practical solutions that will benefit the community.
