HUSM Receives Additional Medical Team

KUALA LUMPUR - Ninety-three medical personnel will depart to Kelantan today to help out at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian and flood-stricken area in Kota Baru.

In a Facebook post, Health Ministry director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that a team from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre comprises of 32 doctors, 14 nurses, and one assistant medical officer will go to HUSM via C-130 Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) aircraft today.

“Another medical team of five doctors, one nurse, four assistant medical officers and four pharmacists had left for Kota Baru with TUDM at 10am today.

Currently, 32 medical staffs are on standby at Institute for Health Management to go to Kota Baru.

He also said that for power supply, five generators will be sent to Kuala Krai Hospital, Pasir Mas Hospital (3), Tanah Merah Hospital (2) today.

“Currently the Health Ministry is working on supplying additional generators to Jeli Hospital,” he said.

Noor Hisham also said that food supplies will be sent to Kuala Krai, Gua Musang, Jeli and Tanah Merah hospitals today.
