To accommodate patients battling it out at the front lines of the obesity epidemic, Toshiba is releasing a new PET/CT tomograph that’s been designed to improve patient comfort and safety when undergoing scans. The device features a 90 cm CT bore and a 88 cm PET bore, the largest in the industry for a PET/CT scanner.
Additionally, fast imaging times are guaranteed thanks to a 450 ps time-of-flight resolution for PET and 32 slice CT scanning, as well as due to a large field of view (70 cm for CT and PET, and 85 cm for CT on its own). The scanner also includes Toshiba’s AIDR 3D technology that helps to reduce the radiation dose from the CT scanner.
