Hexhog Wheelchair Takes Riders Just About Anywhere Offroad



Taking a wheelchair outside means having to stay on sidewalks and worrying about any obstacles on the way. This is the reality for many that don’t have control of their legs and so the great outdoors are largely closed to them. We’ve seen off-road devices like the TankChair before, but now there’s a new device called HexHog that may be the most capable yet.

The HexHog runs on lithium-ion batteries that power two motors that distribute their power into a 6 x 6 wheel drive system. The whole package weighs 600 lbs (275 kg) and can be transported on a small trailer. It costs around $30,000, which is certainly more expensive for most people to own, but we can can see it being used by outdoor adventure places to bring along disabled folks.
