Hamilton Medical (Bonaduz, Switzerland) has unveiled a new clinical humidifier. The device was designed to reduce the number of cables used, to integrate components into a simpler system, and to help control condensation and “rain-out” within the tubing.
Since a cool tube having warm humid air moving through it will form condensation on its walls, the device integrates heating coils within the tubing so that the temperature of the air stays constant throughout its journey. The device can be controlled through a touch interface or can also be connected and operated through a compatible ventilator.
Ease of use
An innovation of the HAMILTON-H900 is that it comprises only two components, which are delivered pre-assembled and ready to use: The pre-assembled wall-heated breathing set including all-in-one connectors, temperature probe, water refill tube, Y-piece, and water chamber, and the humidifier base with user interface and heating plate.
Enhanced ergonomics
The unique combination of having all connections on a humidifier in one single breathing set provides the highest level of ergonomics. Due to the ergonomic design, the user interface can be easily seen and operated from a standing position, and provides all the information you need at a glance.
Optimal rain-out control
Advanced breathing circuits for the HAMILTON-H900 integrate the heater wires into the circuit walls. This eliminates the cold interface between heated breathing gas and ambient temperatures and leads to significantly reduced condensation and rain-out effects in the breathing circuit. By reducing the need to open the circuit to drain condensate the HAMILTON-H900 minimizes the potential for cross contamination.
