Cool Eye Thermopile Arrays from Excelitas are developed for applications that require low resolution 3-D thermal images but without requiring expensive, high-resolution IR imaging cameras.

Cool Eye uses Excelitas’ novel 16-element thermopile array technology to enable low, real-time resolution imaging in a small form factor. The high sensitivity of this array when compared to its predecessors offers considerable improvements in temperature resolution, and consequently improved energy conservation. Cool Eye features one spatial array and two line arrays in a connected module. The arrays include EEPROM, lenses and a microcontroller with an integrated 10 bit ADC to enable digital communication.

Cool Eye is suitable for a range of security, commercial and medical applications such as energy conservation, presence detection, indoor home and office climate control applications, energy efficient appliances and HVAC.
