Nexus6 Smarttouch Inhaler Monitor Helps Patients Adhere To Medication Regimens

Nexus6 out of Auckland, New Zealand received FDA clearance to bring to U.S. market its SmartTouch inhaler monitor. The device slips onto a traditional inhaler and detects when the inhaler is used, sounding alarms to remind to take medication, and keeping a record of compliance.

A touchscreen on the front is used to set the schedule of reminders, as well as display its history of use, and change the alarm ringtones. Wireless connectivity allows the SmartTouch to dump its data to a smartphone or tablet and onward to a patient’s healthcare provider for further review.
