Apple Announces Healthkit And Health App For Ios 8

At their highly-anticipated WWDC keynote in San Francisco on Monday, Apple introduced (or perhaps confirmed rumors of) HealthKit, a new service for iOS 8 that can collect health data from apps, health and fitness wearables, and even health care providers. Consumers can view this data on an app, appropriately called “Health”.

Little else is known about HealthKit and Health right now, although it appears that Apple has been working with Nike as well as at least 20 hospital systems whose names were listed during the keynote.

If any Medgadget readers out there are also iOS developers and will be getting their hands on a beta version of iOS 8, let us know in the comments what else you discover!
