Primerdesign Releases genesig 16, World’s Cheapest Real-Time PCR Machine

Primerdesign, a company out of Southampton, UK, is releasing the world’s cheapest real-time PCR machine, the genesig q16.

The q16, at only $6,500, is designed for use with the company’s kits that include over 400 different tests, including tests for infectious disease screening and food and water safety testing. The device has no moving parts, features 16 wells, and operates in silence, producing accurate results in less than two hours.
