Severe bleeding can be notoriously difficult to stop, even though it has to be done as quickly as possible to save a person’s life. While tourniquets work in certain cases, they’re not applicable for many parts of the body, and even where they work well their very use can lead to severe distal tissue damage. Joe Landolina, a young inventor from New York, has developed the VETIGEL, a substance that seems to work like magic on even the most severe bleeding wounds. The product is not available for human use quite yet, but it is being rolled out to veterinarians already.
