Vercise Deep Brain Neurostimulator EU Approved for Tremor

Boston Scientific received European regulatory approval to offer its Vercise deep brain neurostimulator for treating people with tremor, including essential tremor. The system received previous EU approvals for treating symptoms of Parkinson’s and dystonia.

The device features a rechargeable battery that can power the device for up to 25 years, and the therapy can be adjusted precisely, thanks to multiple independent current control, to target patients’ unique anatomies and needs.

The Vercise is still an investigational device in the U.S. currently undergoing a clinical trial for treating Parkinson’s.
