T-Tracks Keeps Tabs on Clinical Samples While In Transit

Clinical lab specialists now have a new way of keeping track of samples as they travel from collection sites for pathology testing. Lab Sensor Solutions out of Redwood City, California has released a new system that keeps tabs on both the location and temperature of clinical samples while in transit.

The T-Tracks system relies on temperature controlled totes that have mobile sensors built in. These communicate with smartphones or tablets that have the T-tracks app installed, which pass the sensor readings to the cloud from where they can be viewed remotely. A browser-based website or iPhone/Android app can be used to track multiple shipments. Additionally, if the sensor detects that the temperature has gone outside its pre-defined range, the app will warn the carrier to take action while anyone tracking remotely will be aware that the sample may have been damaged.

T-Tracks™ allows clinical laboratories to act based on the Real-Time In-Field (RTIF) conditions of their sample totes so that quick corrective actions can be taken. This ensures that the samples are maintained at the appropriate temperature throughout the process.

T-Tracks™ ensures accurate, real time monitoring of the entire sample network, with the ability to correct any deviations from required temperature profiles and scheduled tote delivery times and locations. It also provides a detailed log showing that those proper conditions have been maintained for each tote carrying samples, thus fulfilling regulatory and compliance requirements.

Real time and historical reports on temperature, delivery, and location enable labs to ensure SOP and regulatory compliance.
