BioCytex Products Now Available Directly From Diagnostica Stago

Diagnostica Stago, Inc. (DSI) announced that the company’s BioCytex products for research-use only applications in cellular hemostasis are now available directly from DSI.

Stephane Zamia, PhD and CEO of DSI noted, “By supplying the BioCytex products directly, our platelet, granulocyte, and red blood cell research customers now have more options in quantitative flow cytometry kits and reagents, and a direct line to our technical experts.”

DSI will now offer BioCytex’s comprehensive line of no wash whole blood quantitative flow cytometry (QFCM) kits focused on the field of cellular hemostasis. More specifically, the kits allow for the monitoring of antiplatelet drugs (PLATELET VASP/P2Y12) as well as the study of platelet disorders (PLATELET Gp/Receptors). The same quantitative technology is available for kits that allow for analysis of granulocyte and red blood cell receptor levels (CELLQUANT / REDQUANT kits), with a major application being the standardized analysis of cells from a patient suspected of Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH).

QFCM kits allow researchers to quantitate cellular receptors as well as receptor occupancy by various ligands. Pharmaceutical applications include clinical studies of new and safer antiplatelet aggregation drugs. Clinical applications include measuring the efficacy of a given antiplatelet drug, allowing for the use of QFCM as a more specific alternative to older reference functional assays such as platelet aggregometry.

Finally, academic QFCM applications cover a myriad of uses because of the technique’s ease-of-use, accessibility and sensitivity towards multiple cellular targets. These kits are available for research-only use – they should not be used for diagnostic procedures.
