DuoSpray™ Ion Source

 

 

A source combining TurboIonSpray and APCI (Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization) modes that can be used for either automated calibration or for switching between ionization modes during the LC elution. Offers the same high flow characteristics as the regular Turbo V source (flow rates from 5 to 3000 µl/min.) and APCI source (flow rates from 200 to 3000 µl/min.).

The DuoSpray™ Ion Source is a combined TurboIonSpray™/APCI source that enables you to switch between ionization modes during the LC elution to:

  • Enhance sensitivity over a large compound range
  • Improve sample throughput
  • Accelerate methods development

 

Select the Best Ionization Process for Each CompoundThe DuoSpray Ion Source allows you to select the best ionization process during an LC run for each individual compound or compound group. Based on the design of the successful TurboV™ source, the DuoSpray ion source uses high-performance ceramic heaters and an optimized housing to provide the same high flow characteristics and low chemical noise as the Turbo V source.

 

Switch Rapidly Between ProbesUsing the source in fast-switching mode, you can rapidly alternate between ionization probes to accelerate method development or for semi-quantitative screening applications. Once a group of compounds with distinct ionization preferences has been identified, you can use period switching to select ionization modes and conditions for separate elution periods. Always working in the best ionization conditions often provides significant gains in sample throughput and data quality.

 

The DuoSpray Ion Source, for use with the API 5000™, API 4000™, API 3200™, 4000 QTRAP®, and the 3200 QTRAP® LC/MS/MS System, requires a TurboIonSpray® Probe and an APCI Probe for TURBO V™ Source Housing. Both probes are included in the source kit.
