Ahlstrom offers a range of high purity 100% cotton fiber, glass microfiber and polyester nonwoven media for use as components in diagnostic test devices. These papers are manufactured under controlled conditions with high purity raw materials to provide reproducible and dependable results.
Sample Preparation:
Recommend the use of Ahlstrom 100% binder free glass products for removal of potential particulate contamination prior to sample application. Provide a range of products with varied flow rates, loading capacity and particle retention parameters.
Sample Application (wicking) and Absorbent pads:
Recommend the use of Ahlstrom 100% cotton fiber products for use in both upstream wicking and downstream absorbing applications. Provide a range of products with varying wicking rates and absorption capacity to meet varied sample volumes.
Conjugate Release:
Provide products with uniform absorption and fast release of conjugate. Available in both glass microfiber and polyester nonwoven materials to meet the required flow, absorption, and release characteristics.
Blood Separation Media - CytoSep®:
Recommended for use in whole blood assays where separation of plasma is necessary. Designed for small volume blood samples in lateral flow assays. Available in several grades depending upon blood volume, thickness and separation time.
Dipstick and Swab Products:
Recommend the use of our 100% cotton fiber materials for use in both dipstick and swab applications. Offer a range of products with varying wicking and absorption properties.
Sample Collection and Transport:
Offer several high purity products for collection and transport of fluid samples including blood, saliva, urine, and other bodily fluids. Range of thickness, absorption and volume capacity available. Ahlstrom Grade 226 is registered with the FDA as a Class II Medical Device. This product is suitable for neonatal screening applications.
