ALERT 2ND CHARITY CLIMB

ALERT's subsidiary in Singapore sponsored Penang Adventist Hospital's (PAH) 2nd Charity Climb for Cardiac Children, which took place in Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, between March 27 -29, 2009.

This initiative aimed at raising funds for the PAH’s Operation Heartbeat project to enable needy children suffering from congenital heart diseases to undergo surgery.

The event saw 21 climbers including 10 hospital employees and 11 volunteers taking part in the climb.

Besides raising funds for the project, participants paid for their own air tickets to Sabah while other expenses were sponsored by the hospital.

To date, the PAH Heart Patients' Fund together with its international charity fund, the Gift of Life Programme, has assisted over 470 people – both adults and children from Malaysia and also other parts of Southeast Asia, with a disbursement of over RM6.7 million.
