Cadi SmartBridge MDI helps nurses halved the time to record patients' vital signs

Nurses at Tan Tock Seng Hospital have nearly halved the time they take to record patients' blood pressure, pulse rate and other vital signs, thanks to a gadget which captures data on the go.

The Medical Device Interface - which runs on a tablet computer - automatically captures readings at a patient's bedside and wirelessly uploads them to an electronic clinical chart.

In the past, nurses had to manually take down the readings and re-enter them into a computer, which could lead to nurses entering data for the wrong patient.

The new gadget reduces the risk of such errors. Nurses have also nearly halved the time they need to record each patient's readings - from 3mins 11sec in the past to 1min 40sec.
