Pantai Hospital granted reaccreditation

KUALA LUMPUR: Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur (PHKL) has been granted reaccreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI) of the Unites States for meeting international standards of quality and safety in delivering healthcare services.

JCI accreditation is the most coveted accreditation globally, with an extremely stringent process, covering more than 320 standards for different hospital procedures and 1,218 measurable elements.

Tan Suet Guan, Regional CEO (Central), Pantai Management Resources Sdn Bhd and CEO of PHKL said to opt for the JCI Accreditation is a voluntary process, and this year it is a triennial for us, which only reflects the continuing
commitment towards improving the quality and safety of patient care.

"For patients, the accreditation is a gold seal of approval from a global authority on our high safety standards in healthcare," she added.

PHKL was established in 1974 with only 68 beds. It now has 332 beds with over 160 consultants.

With the reaccreditation, PHKL is now the only hospital in the Klang Valley and second private facility in Malaysia, to be awarded the JCI accreditation for a second consecutive term.
