BENTONG - The Health Ministry plans to station a nurse at every school to raise awareness on healthcare among students, said its Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.
The matter is being discussed with the Education Ministry and would be started at primary schools, he said
He noted that a nurse in each school could help educate students on personal hygiene, healthcare issues and healthy eating habits.
The ministry has also been planning to introduce a health subject on physical and mental health education in schools, to benefit students overcome school-related stress, among other reasons.
He said that among the causes of stress of students is parental pressure to excel in every subject.
