KUALA LUMPUR: The National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) and Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd inked a deal to provide affordable hospitalisation and surgical insurance for the dependents of banking employees.

The deal, signed recently at Mercu UEM in KL Sentral, will benefit the dependents of NUBE's 30,000 members, effective Jan 1 this year.

Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Jens Reisch and NUBE president Tan Eng Hong were the signatories at a simple ceremony witnessed by NUBE general-secretary J. Solomon, Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia's head of employee benefits (group sales), Fong Looi Foong, and its agent Muhammad Nazim Neil Harding.

Reisch said the policy would provide immediate cover of RM25,000 per disability for each of the NUBE member's dependents.

This policy, he added, was extended to all NUBE members at a premium of RM880 each member without being subjected to any annual limits.
