Kuala Lumpur (21 May 2013) – Export–Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM) today initiated and signed a Memorandum of Collaborative Arrangement (MOCA) with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) to export services, namely in construction and those with information and communication technology capabilities to the wider audience of the international markets.
The MOCA encapsulates collaboration arrangements relating to cross-border banking supervision, exchange of information and knowledge sharing in all areas of financing, cooperation in capacity building and support in the development as well as promotion of trade and export activities in related with construction and ICT industries at the international arena.
Speaking on the occasion, Dato’ Adissadikin Ali, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of EXIM Bank said that MOCA will ensure businesses can obtain sufficient access not limited to financing services but also advisory services to Malaysian companies who are looking to venture abroad.
“EXIM Bank has consistently assisted many Malaysians venturing business abroad by providing its financing and advisory services. MOCA is yet another important initiative ensuring local companies involved getting a fair chance to success”, added Dato’ Adissadikin Ali.
The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Chief Executive Dato’ Sri Ir Dr Judin Abdul Karim acknowledged that the financial industry plays a crucial role in ensuring success of construction projects locally and abroad. “By signing this collaborative arrangement with CIDB, EXIM Bank is opening the doors to capable contractors to explore international opportunities,” commented Dato’ Sri Ir Dr Judin Abdul Karim.
"The funding assistance through this agreement with Exim Bank and CIDB will enable more MSC Malaysia status companies to market and export their ICT-based products and services abroad. This will also provide an opportunity for them to compete with the other ICT players at the global level,” said Datuk Mohd Badlisham Ghazali, Chief Executive Officer of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).
The MOCA that signifies another milestone in the trade and export activities was signed by Dato’ Adissadikin Ali, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of EXIM Bank Malaysia. Also taking part in this signing ceremony was Dato’ Sri Ir Dr. Judin Abdul Karim, Chief Executive of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Datuk Mohd Badlisham Ghazali, Chief Executive Officer of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC). The signing ceremony was witnessed by Datuk Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Finance Minister, Datuk Ir. Hamzah Hasan, Chairman of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) together with Dato’ Agil Natt, Members of the Board of EXIM Bank Malaysia.
