WELCH ALLYN ANNOUNCES LONG-TERM STRATEGIC GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP WITH SCHILLER AG

Julie Shimer, president and CEO of Welch Allyn, together with Alfred Schiller, CEO of Schiller AG, today announced that the two medical device manufacturing companies have forged a new distribution and OEM partnershipthat will leverage both companies' strength and expertise in diagnostic cardiology technology, patient monitoring products, and go-to-market channels.

The new alliance will encompass not only distribution of selected Schiller manufactured products by Welch Allyn, but will include provisions for a more collaborative approach toward the gathering of market intelligence, assessing and understanding of clinical needs, as well as designing and developing innovative, cost effective products.  In addition to product development, both companies will begin to work synergistically toward the strengthening and enhancing of their relationships with distributor partners, including the recently announced acquisition of Latin America-focused MD International by Welch Allyn.
