Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor From BP Healthcare

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 — BP Healthcare Group, the country’s largest private healthcare provider, has launched a Bluetooth enabled blood pressure monitor that is easy for consumers to take their own measurement and email the tracked data directly to their doctors via smart mobile devices.

The BP Blood Pressure Meter is one of the first in the world that is compatible with both iOS and Android platforms. It operates with a one-touch button to inflate an arm cuff to measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate, as well as detect irregular heart beat.

In tandem with the launch, BP Healthcare Group has added a new service to receive blood pressure readings via email from its patients and the response has been good, said Group Managing Director Datuk Chevy Beh.

“The BP Blood Pressure Meter is a digital health revolution device that fits very well with our Group’s philosophy of preventive medicine. We want to encourage a fundamental shift to empower the consumer to better manage their health with the availability of a smart, fast and accurate product that is also affordable as well,” he said.

“The device can also help patients to reduce the number of trips and avoid traffic hassle and waiting in queue for their regular blood pressure checks at hospitals. Those who are travelling or the less mobile can self monitor their blood pressure as well and stay in contact with their doctors with their smartphone and BP Monitor app.”

Beh said constant blood pressure monitoring and tracking will enable timely intervention and rapid response to diseases such as to hypertension, stroke, heart failure and coronary heart disease.

As it is compatible with iOs and Android, the BP Blood Pressure Meter can be shared by several persons with mobile phone, laptop, or touch screen devices using the different platforms.

Users can download the “BP Monitor” app for free at Google Play Store or iTunes.

The device takes a reading and transmits it via Bluetooth to your mobile device and the “BP Monitor” app which can store and graph the measurements of multiple users and email the data to the doctor.

The device itself has an internal 90 sets of memory for two users. It is operated by four batteries and medically compliant with European medical device regulations.

The BP Blood Pressure Meter is available at all BP branches and 4,000 partner clinics nationwide. It can also be ordered online here with nationwide delivery.

BP Healthcare Group has a network of over 100 branches across the whole country with over 70 laboratories, 50 diagnostic centres, 50 pharmacies and dispensaries, 50 hearing aid centres, 50 food and industrial testing centres, five daycare specialist centres, three dental specialist clinics and one eye clinic.
