TauTona Group Tissue Injector

TauTona Group (Menlo Park, CA) has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its hand-held adipose tissue transfer device, the TauTona Tissue Injector (TTI). Physicians currently use a syringe for fat grafting, a tool which can be cumbersome and not well controlled with respect to the rate of deposits. By monitoring pressure and flow rates during fat placement, the TTI can maintain a consistent and even rate despite the non-homogeneous nature of the tissue. This can help physicians focus on proper grafting and relieve concerns about the syringe clogging, both of which should reduce procedure time.

It is a single-use, disposable, battery powered device that connects with a pre-filled, off-the-shelf syringe and re-injection cannula. A trigger mechanism can then be activated to power a motor which drives a plunger in a controlled manner, delivering the tissue in specific aliquot sizes. TauTona expects that the added ease of use and reduced time and cost to complete the procedure will promote the use of fat grafting, particularly in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.

The device includes:
-Pump with enclosed motor
-Battery Pack (12 Volt)
-Controller
-Dispensing trigger
-On/off/aliquot size select switch
-Indicator light
-Syringe luer connector (female)
-Cannula luer connector (male)
