Ambu and RespCare sign exclusive distribution deal

Ambu, a leading global supplier of medical devices, has signed a distribution agreement with RespCare and InnoMed Technologies. This makes Ambu the exclusive distributor of RespCare’s line of masks and interfaces as well as InnoMed’s Nasal Aire II Petite (for pediatric market) for Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV).

“We are pleased to join forces with RespCare/InnoMed to provide our hospital customers with innovative products that improve patient care”, says Lars Marcher, CEO of Ambu. “This agreement means that Ambu is taking over existing sales of RespCare’s NIV range in the US market as well as the sales in Europe.”

“RespCare and InnoMed are extremely happy with this new arrangement. We have searched hard for a distribution partner that would market, sell and distribute our great line of single patient use NIV masks and interfaces”, says Sanjay Chandran, CEO of InnoMed Technologies, Inc. “Ambu has a great reputation of manufacturing and distributing excellent medical devices. Ambu sells into over 127 countries and will give our product line full exposure throughout the healthcare community.”

Non-Invasive Ventilation
Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) is a means of ventilation that is useful in case of acute respiratory failure and cardiac pulmonary edema. This eliminates the need for endotracheal intubation in some cases and results in fewer complications, shorter hospital stays and thereby reduced mortality and costs of care.
