Sri Kota donates over 20,000 facemasks and buntings to schools in Klang as classes resume

Schools are opening and classes returning to a new normal and as part of its community outreach, Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre has donated over 20,000 facemasks to 31 schools in Klang.

The leading flagship tertiary healthcare provider contributed some 20,000 masks with eye shields to 19 primary and secondary schools, while 12 pre-schools received 1,000 masks keepers as classes kicked off last week.

The face masks were part of a donation to help the schools as they re-open following the directive from the Ministry of Education Malaysia following four months of closure due to the restrictive movement control order in the nation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Representatives from the Specialist Centre delivered the face masks with eye shield and the face mask keepers from July 14th to the 29th, along with educational buntings printed with infographics on safety guidelines.

These would help students and staff ensure that their environment is a safe and COVID-19 free environment.

“It’s a community effort to get schools to re-open. We all want our children back to schools and to continue with their education hence we must be willing to do what it takes keep them healthy and safe,” said Sri Kota Hospital Director, Madam Tan Suet.

She added that Sri Kota wanted to send the message that healthcare providers were responsible in protecting the communities that surrounded it.

“Sri Kota will strive to always do our best to be part of the solution,” she said, adding that she hoped that the facemasks, keepers and buntings  would encourage corporations and businesses to continue assisting the public in slowing and curbing the spread of the disease.
