Porex Corporation (POREX) unveiled on 26 April 2018 its new Customer and Commercial Center as well as its expanded manufacturing plant in HICOM Industrial Estate, Shah Alam.

The Customer and Commercial Center will focus on providing commercial, business development, marketing, customer service and product development engineering services, mainly to customers in China, Japan and Korea.

POREX provides engineering solutions for filtering, venting, wicking, diffusing absorbing and applying of gases and liquids across a wide spectrum of industrial applications, including medical-related ones.

According to William Foughty, the Senior Vice President of global operations, this expansion was in line with the company’s focus on constantly focusing on new applications that will benefit from its expertise, such as filtration solutions for biomedical and water treatment applications.

The expanded manufacturing plant will see a 40% increase in operational floor space – a growth that will enable POREX Malaysia to scale up production of unique fibre lines as well as its already established sintered particle lines.

Production of both fiber lines will enable the product development team of the company to assist Asian customers in designing and inventing new products.

“Together with our other facility based in Ningbo, China, we look forward to better serve customers in the region as POREX grows and expands its market reach in the region. The next stage is to look into global manufacturing capabilities where products can be manufactured in Asia to serve our global customers worldwide based on functional needs,” said Foughty.
