Sunway Medical Centre sets sights on Sunway Velocity

Cheras/KL South communities will see a new tertiary care private hospital in Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) by the end of 2019, as part of the Sunway Group’s extensive RM320 million (US$77 million) healthcare expansion plan.

Encompassing Sunway Velocity’s five key aspects – retail, healthcare, residential, hospitality, education and commercial – the medical centre will provide various facilities, amenities and services, such as inpatient and outpatient care, 24-hour emergency services, specialist consultations, diagnostic imaging facilities, and medical and surgical capabilities.

SMCV’s 33,000 sqm area accommodates some 240 beds, 77 consultation suites, six operating theatre, a catheterisation laboratory, and comes equipped with a UPS system and reserve generator for uninterrupted power supply.

The hospital’s specialist clinics include those of cardiology, gastroenterology, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics and paediatrics, which will provide comprehensive services on weekdays and Saturdays, while its emergency medical services provides an ambulance service as well as CPR guidance via telephone.

Further, the 9.3-hectare integrated development is strategically situated from the KL City Centre and is linked to the Maluri LRT and MRT stations – SMCV is close to KLCC, Bukit Bintang, the Golden Triangle, IKEA Cheras, Royal Selangor Golf Club and AEON Maluri, and so, has access to major transport services.
