Prize of Honour to V. Guldmann A/S

V. Guldmann A/S was awarded the prestigious King Frederik the Ninth Prize of Honour. The prize is awarded Guldmann as recognition of the company’s considerable increase of export sales.

The export prize named “King Frederik Ninth Prize of Honour for a Meritorious Contribution to Danish Export” was presented the company owners Carsten and Jørgen Guldmann and export manager Bendt Apollo Rasmussen onboard the Royal Yacht “Dannebrog” by his Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark.

The prize is awarded once a year to companies that have shown excellent and outstanding efforts to increase and develop the export of Danish products and services. Besides Guldmann, four other Danish export companies were awarded the prize.

In his speech to the prize winners Sten Scheibye, chairman of the Danish Export Counsil and the deputy chairman of the commitee of the King Fredrik the 9th Prize of honour, said: “It is encouraging to see that the prize winners this year have all succeeded to go through the financial crisis with a remarkable increase in export sales. Even in hard times these companies have been able to adapt to the new situation and utilize the global market possibilities.”

Guldmann export sales have increased from 50 percent in 2003 to 69 percent in 2009 – the main growth has been in the USA and England.

“We are very pleased with the recognition of our company that this prize stands for - however, the recognition should very much be addressed to our employees – including our subsidiaries and distributors. The last-mentioned form the important basis for our approach to the markets. We will, of course, make use of the prize when we market our products abroad, where a prize like this will be of great value,” says CEO Carsten Guldmann.
