Agfa’s CR 30-X Digitizer Ranked No. 1 in single plate CR systems category for 2010

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solutions, announced it has been named category leader for single plate CR in the 2010 Best in KLAS Medical Equipment Report. Agfa HealthCare’s CR 30-X single plate Computed Radiography (CR) digitizer is the No. 1 ranked CR product, according to KLAS, a research firm specializing in monitoring and reporting the performance of healthcare vendors.

The CR 30-X received an overall score of 88.74, with a functionality of 95 percent, according to the medical equipment report.

Working together with executives from over 4500 hospitals and over 2500 clinics, KLAS delivers timely reports, trends and statistics which provide a solid overview of vendor performance in the industry. KLAS measures performance of software, professional services and medical equipment vendors.

"Being named category leader is a great honor," said Greg Cefalo, US Digital Radiography Business Unit Manager, Agfa HealthCare. "We take pride in our comprehensive family of CR and DR solutions, and the affordable CR 30-X provides healthcare facilities with a quality, easy-to-deploy digitizer at the point-of-care where it is most needed."

The CR 30-X is a compact tabletop CR system with a single-slot digitizer, ideal for decentralized general radiography, military field hospitals, orthopedics, dental, chiropractic, and veterinary use. Its combination of high image quality, affordability, size and implementation of market-leading imaging software distinguishes this product from all market competitors.

Enabling more convenient and faster workflow throughout the imaging process, the CR 30-X works in conjunction with Agfa HealthCare's NX, the CR's image identification and quality control workstation designed to enable users to effortlessly and efficiently complete digital X-ray exposure. In addition, the CR 30-X uses MUSICA2 intelligent image processing software to automatically optimize the final image quality without the need for manual intervention.

Because standard electrical outlets are used, the set up cost is low and installation simple. With its modular, component-based design, the CR 30-X digitizer offers fast, easy and cost-effective maintenance, making it the leading choice of facilities looking to initiate a digital imaging workflow or larger facilities looking to add remote areas to the digital network.

"A major investment in medical equipment - whether for diagnostic imaging, pharmacy automation or another vital area - is a significant, often costly, endeavor for any healthcare organization," said KLAS President Adam Gale. "This annual report, recognizing medical equipment vendors that have shown a unique dedication to their customers, is intended to help providers wade through all the options and identify vendors and solutions that are the best fit for their organizations."
