B. Braun Communications Campaigns Win National and Local Recognition

Two B. Braun Medical Inc. (B. Braun) public relations campaigns, which promoted the company's leadership in infusion therapy and encouraged broader CPR education and deployment of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), have won awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Stern + Associates, a full-service public relations and marketing communications agency with offices in Cranford, NJ and Cambridge, MA, helped B. Braun create and implement the campaigns.

B. Braun's "Smart Pump Industry Leadership" campaign received a Bronze Anvil Commendation from PRSA National. The campaign positioned the company as a leading infusion therapy provider and also positioned B. Braun's smart pumps as an essential and effective tool to help healthcare facilities reduce infusion therapy-related medication errors. The campaign featured coverage of B. Braun's "smart pumps" and their features on national cable television, local television news and trade publications.

B. Braun was one of 78 award recipients selected from nearly 700 entries.

PRSA NJ awarded B. Braun a Pyramid Award for its media relations program to increase awareness of the value of CPR and AED training as part of a salute to employees, emergency services and hospital personnel who saved the life of a B. Braun employee after he suffered a heart attack on the job. The employee's emotional thank you to those who helped him received wide coverage in the Lehigh Valley and led to an op-ed piece by B. Braun Chairman and CEO Caroll H. Neubauer that encouraged CPR and AED training.
