Shimadzu Corporation, are pleased to announce that new factory for medical systems has been finally completed in the premise of headquarters in Kyoto, Japan.
The new 4-story and SRC factory has 18,350 square meters. Shimadzu invested approx. JPY 4 billion on ecology by attaching solar panels on the south side of the building and insulative sandwich panels, which are already equipped with the factories for analytical/measuring instruments and for semiconductor devices located nearby.
The factory accommodates a variety of departments, which are separately located so far, including production lines for angiography systems and X-ray tubes as well as training center, parts control center, Service Management Dept. and Quality Assurance Dept.
"We are sure to provide more effectively customers with higher quality products and services. Now we are moving the base from the old plant and the new factory will be soon in operation."
They have two manufacturing plants in Japan, one is located in the headquarters and another is in Shimane prefecture, where they carry out consistent production from parts fabrication to final assembly and shipping. From now Shimane factory will be mainly in charge of production of conventional systems, while the new plant will manufacture all the others, thus the clear segregation of duties will definitely lead to the cost reduction of products and logistics.
Shimadzu will keep on working on enhancing the smooth cooperation among departments after the new factory is in operation so that higher quality products and services that meet customers needs will be more efficiently provided to customers.
