Agfa HealthCare’s CR 30-X and DX-G CR solutions to streamline workflow for leading health network
Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solutions, today announced that Kettering Health Network, Ohio, has chosen its CR 30-X and DX-G computed radiography (CR) solutions for installation in two of its area outpatient imaging centers. The solutions will help both patient centers streamline clinician workflow. The CR solutions will be utilized by 18 radiologists and ten residents throughout the network.

"We are very impressed with the combination of excellent image quality from Agfa HealthCare's tabletop CR 30-X and DX-G solutions," said Merle Peterson, Director of Medical Imaging for Kettering Health Network. "When looking for a CR solution, it is important to compare image quality, speed of workflow, service quality, cost and user-friendliness - and Agfa HealthCare was able to meet all of our criteria in these areas."
"Agfa HealthCare is excited to be able to provide Kettering Health Network with the solutions it needs to deliver better care for its patients, and to offer a more streamlined workflow and user-friendly experience for their clinicians," said Susan Offenhauser, Business Partner Manager for Agfa HealthCare US.
Agfa HealthCare's CR 30-X is a versatile tabletop CR solution that offers the same efficiency and excellent image quality that users would expect in a full-sized floor model. A single-slot digitizer that combines high image quality with high throughput, the CR 30-X is a compact and convenient solution that is easy to install, use and maintain, and provides seamless integration to local picture archiving and communication system (PACS) networks. The solution also allows imaging professionals to optimize the value of their existing and future PACS technology. Because of its compact design, it was best suited for Kettering Health Network's Dayton Mall location in Dayton, Ohio, which receives less traffic than the other network hospitals, but had a strong need for a single plate reader.
Agfa HealthCare's DX-G is a Digital Radiography System that unites superb image quality with the convenience of supporting both standard phosphor plates and needle-based detectors. Because of the exclusive DirectriX detector technology, when the needle-based detector option is used, the system offers the potential for a significant patient dose reduction. The drop-and-go buffer can seamlessly handle a mixture of cassette sizes, multiple patients and both types of phosphor plates, making the DX-G an extremely productive CR System. In Kettering, Ohio, at the Lincoln Park center, the DX-G will be in a centralized environment, therefore allowing it to serve multiple rooms.
Both CR systems include Agfa HealthCare's patented MUSICA2 image processing software, optimizing image quality and workflow.
Agfa HealthCare's unique and patented multi-scale image contrast amplification algorithm, "MUSICA", automatically processes the radiographic image at multiple frequency ranges (detail sizes) and optimizes the contrast within each of these ranges.
MUSICA2 is the second generation MUSICA software product that intelligently renders exceptional bone and soft tissue detail simultaneously. MUSICA2 software analyzes the image data before applying optimal contrast and density to all details within the image. This results in excellent radiographic detail throughout the image, greatly reducing the need for manual activities such as window and level. The improved productivity and workflow result in a process that is more efficient from start to finish.
